Project : Skilldren

Skilldren is a professional art program designed by skilled & experienced artists for kids (aged 4-14). Their art program encourages creative expression, strengthens hand-eye coordination, develops motor skills, and induces a sense of healthy competition between kids.

My Task : Brand Identity

In crafting Skilldren’s brand identity, I undertook the task of visually encapsulating the company’s essence and values. Through extensive research and a meticulous design process, I developed a cohesive system that includes a distinctive logo, a carefully curated color palette, and versatile brand elements. The challenge was to seamlessly merge professionalism with the dynamic and innovative spirit of Skilldren. The resulting brand identity not only communicates the company’s core message but also establishes a strong and consistent presence across various touchpoints, serving as a powerful tool for brand recognition and connection with its audience.

1) Grandstander

Headings and CTA's

Grandstander is a display font created by Tyler Finck. It’s got a fun, off-kilter presence that piques your curiosity and makes you want to read more. It feels a bit like something you might see on the packaging of novelty kitchenware aimed at millennials or a greeting card featuring a snarky grandma.

Paragraph and sub-headings

A perfect blend of pointy paws in a coat of fur, Baloo is an affable display typeface by Ek Type. This heavy spurless design has garnered praise for its distinctive jovial nature and its multi script design. Baloo 2 is an extension of the earlier Baloo project. It has five weights, ranging from the light footed Regular to the amiable ExtraBold.

03 LOGO DESIGN

The Story

The logo was designed keeping the brand’s reputation, target audience, and nature in mind. The logo had to be joyful, playful, easy to grasp on, colorful, and most importantly, creative. The logo was to be designed in such a way that it could be animated to make it relatable to kids. Keeping this and many more things in mind, I created this logo on my second iteration only.

04 OFFICIAL WEBSITE

The Story

The website is designed in harmony with the logo and all the brand values.  In the first iteration, the website was full of elements and sound effects. Later on, the brand expressed the need to move towards a little more minimalistic approach to keep up with the page speed from an SEO perspective. This website is created on WordPress using Elementor and a simple Astra theme.
